The Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-Jana Sena Party (JSP)-BJP alliance, which came to power with a remarkable performance, faced the daunting task of rebuilding Amaravati. The government’s coffers were empty and the resulting shortage of funds created a dire situation.
Fortunately, the Central Government not only pledged its support for the development of Amaravati but also acted quickly as the State Government handled the situation carefully with its tight Budget.
Investor confidence was restored after the formation of the NDA Government in Andhra Pradesh and the World Bank and other lending institutions were willing to lend a helping hand.
Encouraged by this, the State Government was proceeding with increased energy to develop Amaravati as one of the leading cities in the world, where a plan like New Delhi’s Central Vista Project was drafted with a vision for the future.
In addition, Mr. Naidu said the TDP Government, during 2014-19, acquired 34,241 hectares of land from 29,881 farmers and acquired about 4,300 hectares. Apart from that, about 15,167 government land was made available for major work. All the hard work done during that time was wasted by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government.
