Ghaziabad domestic help tied to mixing urine in dough to make rotis

A 32-year-old domestic help was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police in Ghaziabad on Wednesday for allegedly mixing urine in flour dough to make chapati (flat bread) for her employers. The woman, whose name is Reena, was arrested following a complaint by one of her employers.

This incident happened when the complainant recorded a video of Reena urinating in a container and mixed it with flour. The video has gone viral on X, with people calling for action to be taken.

When she was questioned, Reena admitted what was going on, saying that her employer was always watching her and often scolded her for small mistakes. Annoyed by this, she mixed urine and flour several times to make rotis.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against Reena. The police are also investigating to see if the suspect had a criminal record.

Last month, a man was beaten up and later arrested by the Ghaziabad police on suspicion of working for them juices mixed with urine from customers. The suspect, Aamir Khan, the owner of Khushi Juice Corner, was arrested when his junior assistant was arrested by the police.

To curb these practices, the Uttar Pradesh government is planning to bring in two laws that will penalize eating food that pollutes human feces and force all restaurants to put up name plates detailing owners and staff.

The new law will make spitting food punishable by up to 10 years in prison. There will also be provisions for revocation of licenses and fines for mixing urine or waste.
