Noida police on October 10 arrested a man who works as a housekeeper in a private school for allegedly sexually assaulting a kindergarten girl student in the school premises the day before.
This incident occurred when the child’s father was taking him to the hospital. “Our daughter could not go to school because she was complaining of severe pain in her lower abdomen. After that, we took him to the hospital. “During the examination, the doctor informed us of an injury to his genitals,” the parents said in the complaint filed on October 10.
After the examination, the girl revealed to her parents the allegations of sexual abuse, which led to the suspect’s arrest.
School administrators and the police have started a campaign to raise awareness among children about such crimes. The principal of the private school has written a letter to the parents of the students. “We understand that situations like this can cause anxiety in our parent community. Therefore, we would like to assure you that the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. We are committed to fully support the investigation until the matter is resolved,” the principal wrote, adding that the school and the girl’s parents were cooperating fully with the police.
Suniti, Deputy Commissioner of Police (women’s security), Noida, visited different school premises on Tuesday to educate girl children about crimes against women and the difference between good and bad touch. He also distributed several leaflets explaining various sexual crimes and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (Pocso).
