The Delhi High Court on Monday issued a notice to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) regarding the bail application of Ibrahim Puthanathani, the former national coordinator of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI).
The court sought response from the anti-terrorist agency on his bail plea.
Ibrahim Puthanathani moved the High Court after the court rejected his plea and refused to grant him bail.
The NIA has booked Ibrahim Puthanathani and several other PFI leaders in a terrorism case, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA).
He was arrested by the NIA in 2022. The investigation agency had suspected that these people were conspiring and collecting funds from India and other countries to carry out acts of terrorism in many states of the country.
The court scheduled the next hearing for November 11.
