The co-hosts of ‘The Big Weekend Show’ discuss former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris hitting the campaign trail in the final weeks before the November election.
Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are locked in a tight race for the White House, with voters evenly split between the two, according to an NBC News survey of registered voters.
When the poll, conducted Oct. 4-8, asked respondents who they would vote for, Trump and Harris each received 48% in the subjective rating.
When third-party statistics were added to the mix, the overall result was 47% for Trump compared to 46% for Harris.

Specifically, 42% said they would definitely support the Republican presidential ticket, while another 42% said they would definitely choose the Democratic ticket. Additionally, 4% indicated that they would likely vote for the GOP ticket and 3% indicated that they would likely vote for the Democratic ticket. And 1% leans on the Democratic ticket while the other 1% leans on the Republican ticket.
“As summer begins to fall, any signs of Kamala Harris’ intensity have stopped,” said Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt, who conducted the survey with GOP pollster Bill McInturff, according to NBC News. “Race is a dead heat.”
The race is very close as Election Day, November 5, 2024, approaches.

“Kamala Harris’ challenge: Can she rise to the occasion and fill the gaps voters have about her?” Horwitt commented, according to NBC News. “Donald Trump’s challenge: Can he say that the chaos and personal behavior that troubled many in his first term will not interfere with governing and representing America?” he said. “Next month will mean that the candidates can face these challenges.”
The poll results also show a deep divide regarding the outcome of the upcoming congressional elections, with 47% preferring a Republican-controlled Congress and 47% preferring a Democratic-controlled Congress.
