An 80-foot idol of Ravana is burnt with green unpolluted crackers at the National Dussehra Fair in Kota

An 80-feet long effigy of Ravana was burnt with 3D effects on the occasion of Vijayadashami on Saturday (October 12, 2024) evening at the 131st National Dussehra Fair in Kota.

60 feet tall effigies of Ravana’s brother Kumbhakarna and son Meghnad were also burnt using green firecrackers to make the ceremony clean.

Speaking after the effigies were burnt, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said, “Lord Ram lived a good life and walked with the poor and needy people. He worked to change their attitude. He lived through 14 years of exile. and finally killed the proud Ravan.”

“The life and philosophy of Lord Ram inspires us to follow the path of truth,” said Mr. Birla, Member of Parliament for Kota-Bundi Assembly, at Kota Dusshera Ground.

Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Power Minister Heeralal Nagar, MP Sandeep Sharma, Mayor Rajeev Bharti and Kota Dusshera Fair Committee chairman Vivek Rajvanshi were also present on the occasion.

Cold pyro was placed at various places on the statues to create unique fireworks effects and highlight the 3D structure of Ravana’s figure.

The nectar pot in Ravana’s hand is twisted to create a 3D effect, while the motors placed in the teeth and core add to the fun. The images were burned step by step with remote controlled fireworks.

Former member of Kota’s royal family and former Member of Parliament Ijyaraj Singh fired a celebratory fireball and lit three effigies.
