A man from Bengaluru has been fired from his job after a case was registered against him for sending a message threatening to pour acid on a woman because of her ‘choice of clothes.’ The woman’s husband complained that his wife had been given a warning.

Speaking to X, husband Shahbaz Ansar wrote, “This person is threatening to throw acid on my wife’s face because of her choice of clothes. Please take immediate action against this person so that this incident does not happen.”

Shahbaz tagged the Bengaluru police, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar in the tweet.

Nikith Shetty, a former employee of Etios Services, allegedly issued a disturbing threatening message to a woman and warned her to dress appropriately in Karnataka.

After the message appeared on Ansar’s social media, netizens followed Shetty where he works. The company he worked for said he was fired and a case of threatening a woman has been registered.

“We are very saddened to talk about a serious incident involving one of our employees, Nikith Shetty, who made a threatening statement about the clothes chosen by another. This behavior is unacceptable and goes against the core values we uphold at Etios Services,” the company said.

“As a company committed to promoting a safe and respectful environment, we have taken immediate action. “Nikith’s employment has been terminated for a period of five years, and we have filed a case against him to ensure that he is held accountable for his actions,” added the company.

After the action taken by the defendant, many people praised the company’s action against the man who threatened the woman about her clothes. Ansar also thanked the support he received on social media.

“The man who threatened my wife Khyati Shree with acid has lost his job. The company acted quickly and fired him. I thank everyone who did this,” he said.

The accused was under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) including Section 124 which deals with crimes involving attacks using acid or similar substances.
