The California city of Pasadena has been haunted by just that—a used box that’s always full of piss bottles. Bottles appear in the middle of the night, several times a week, urine fills everything from soda bottles to milk cartons and even gallon jugs.
The City of Pasadena tried to prevent the odd caper by attaching a metal barrier to the top of the utility box, thus preventing the placement of bottles filled with piss. But the Piss Bandit, as they are called, do not give up easily: they break through the barrier and continue to bring bottles filled to the brim with piss. This has been going on for six years and no one knows why.
The New York Post reports that the neighbors don’t find it very funny. “I found it disgusting,” said another. “I never considered it art in any way or form.” Another neighbor threatened the Piss Bandit. “If I find you leaving your pee here, I will make you drink every last drop!”
The story of the Piss Bandit recently went viral after the duo on TikTok, Grant Yansura and Derek Milton, launched an investigation using game cameras and fake construction workers to try to catch the criminal and learn about their motivations—it was art, magic. , or something else entirely? Maybe Piss Bandit isn’t bad at all, but he’s just delivering the goods to other Shivambu artists.
To find out what’s going on, Yansura and Milton begin their investigation by secretly installing a game camera in a tree next to the box, so they can spot the bandit when they arrive. What happened next shocked them—after reviewing the footage, they discovered that the Piss Bandit had placed the bottles in the utility box not on the side of the road but on the way. on the wall behind it. All they see is the gangster’s arm sticking out of the wall, placing the bottles on the floor as if confidently placing chess pieces.
Alas, the Piss Bandit would not be caught that easily. Yansura and Milton needed more cameras, placed inside the tree on the other side of the wall.
After installing new cameras, they soon found their boy: a man in his mid-30s or 40s wearing latex gloves with a flashlight. “This seems very planned and deliberate,” Yansura said in one of the videos. “I thought seeing a thief would turn me off, but it actually doubled my curiosity.”
Finally after testing some of the urine and finding that it was real, clean piss, and making some assumptions about his clothes, they decided that the culprit must be an artist of some sort. And any artist who has made a name for himself will definitely want to be interviewed, so they put a big handwritten pad with questions and a Sharpie on the site, hoping that he will write answers that explain why he does all this.
That decision backfired, as it scared the Piss Bandit, who found the camera and stole it, leaving the question pad untouched. Even more alarming, the camera, which is connected to the Internet and remotely transmits the recorded images, after a few days rang with the image of the Sunset Cliffs in San Diego. Eventually, the Piss Bandit returned to the site and retaliated further by throwing large bottles of piss and drawing demonic faces on their faces.
