At one point, at least, the Kremlin sided with Bob Woodward against Donald Trump.
Woodward will come out with a new book, and among the things that reveal in its topics is his report on what happened during the outbreak of the epidemic, when the number of deaths increased and people could not get the services to test Covid-19.

President Trump, then in 2020, secretly sent Vladimir Putin a batch of Abbott Point of Care Covid testing equipment “for his own use.”
The Trump campaign said Woodward’s letter, an earlier copy of which was obtained by CNN, contained entirely fabricated stories.
But Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the discovery of the Covid equipment.

“Regarding tests, when the epidemic started, countries did not have enough equipment,” said Peskov. “And many countries then exchanged this form of support and sent each other the various goods they had.”
In fact, that spring of 2020, Russia sent the Trump administration 60 tons of medical equipment.
Woodward also quotes the Russian dictator as telling Trump: “I don’t want you to tell anybody because people will be mad at you, not me. They don’t care about me.”

But Peskov disputed another of Woodward’s assertions, that Trump has been in regular contact with Putin since he left the White House, with as many as seven phone calls between them. “As for the calls, that’s a lie,” Peskov said.
In “War,” however, a Washington Post sleuth recounts an incident in which Trump told a top aide to leave the room to “get what he said was a secret phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.” Trump officials now say they are not aware of such discussions.
The former president gave Woodward 18 taped interviews for his previous book, but they fell out after the veteran journalist wrote that Trump was unfit for office — and was sued by his subject for releasing the recordings.

I know Woodward’s work very well, and while any journalist can be misled by sources, they don’t make things right.
Some parts of the book talk about Joe Biden confronting Putin about the upcoming invasion of Ukraine, Kamala Harris warned the unknown Volodomyr Zelenskyy, and – officials take a 50 percent chance that he will use a tactical nuclear weapon against the people of Ukraine, called the Kremlin Manager “episode of evil.”
The president repeatedly insulted Bibi Netanyahu, calling him an SOB and, later, a “liar” after the Israeli prime minister attacked the Rafah settlement despite American pressure.

In a statement from Trump’s spokesperson, which sounds like it was said by the manager, Woodward is described as “a really confused and deranged man who suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Woodward is an angry, petty and clearly upset man. because President Trump successfully sued him for the unauthorized publication of recordings he made in the past that President Trump did not give him at all reach for this trashy book that probably belongs in the fiction bin of a discount bookstore or used as toilet tissue. Woodward is a demented sleazebag, and he’s slow, tired, incompetent and a boring, inhumane person.”

Trump, who prides himself on being a counter-puncher, wastes little time before taking off.

After Harris’ friendly radio interview with Howard Stern, who said it would be crazy to vote for Trump, this post appeared on Truth Social:
“BETA MALE Howard Stern made a fool of himself on his low-level radio show when he ‘interviewed’ Lyn Kamala Harris, and hit her with so many SOFTBALL questions that she was also embarrassed.
“He looked like a real fool, working hard to make someone completely incompetent and unarmed look as good as possible, which wasn’t very good. I gave up on Howard a long time ago, like many others, and since then I’ve been gifted with excellent judgment!”
Donald and Howard, of course, had been friends from New York, and Trump attended his wedding.
Trump also had campaign manager Chris LaCivita swiped from Fox News to cover (along with other networks) a government forum, including Biden and Harris, on Hurricane Milton as the superstorm heads toward Florida.
“@FoxNews is as bad as every other ‘cable news’ network … running real propaganda and @KamalaHarris TV commercials disguised as a news conference,” Chris LaCivita wrote on X.

Of course there is a political advantage to Harris showing that he and FEMA are working hard to prepare for a Florida hurricane, as there is when Ron DeSantis holds the pressure on a Category 5 threat.
But since Kamala’s budding media finally revealed some news after weeks of Trump dominating his campaign, this shows her willingness to include herself in every emerging story, no matter how bad.
