A year after the October 7 attack by Hamas that started the war in Gaza, India continues to emphasize the need for dialogue and negotiation amid the growing conflicts in the Middle East, now fully involving Lebanon and Iran. While condemning the terrorist act against Israel last year, India also expressed concern over the loss of life in the conflict.
Even before the situation began to escalate in West Asia, it focused on the need for peace and aid for the Palestinian people, while also blaming Israel’s right to respond to violence on its soil.
Regarding the growing tension in the region, Gandler said “There are a lot of arbitrators in the middle, a lot of people talking about what should and shouldn’t be done about Iran. I think that first of all, maybe a message of calm should be sent to Iran, a message of mediation that will say that Iran should dissolve its proxies, stop to attack Israel and stop the discourse against Israel, on the international and domestic stage.
