A huge rush was seen at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devastanam from early morning with thousands of devotees visiting the temple to have darshan of the deities on the day of Mula nakshatram (star) on Wednesday (October 9. 2024)
More than 2 lakh devotees are expected to have darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga Devi, who was adorned as Sri Saraswathi Devi alankaram.
Devotees from Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Odisha and other countries will visit Indrakeeladri during Dasara Navarathri Utsavams and take vows to Goddess Durga Devi.
Collector G. Srijana, Commissioner of Police SV Rajashekar Babu, senior temple officer KS Rama Rao and other officials reviewed the preparations for Mula Nakshatram, the seventh day of Navarathri Utsavams on Wednesday.
As Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the temple at 3 pm to offer silk clothes to the deity, police tightened security.
Officials of the Endowments Department have set up Antaralayam, VVIP and VIP Darshanams, and all lines are free Darshanam lines on Wednesday.
“Around 110 holding areas have been constructed along the line to stop the rush. Officials in charge of all 36 sectors have been warned,” said Mr. Rajashekar Babu told The Hindu.
