4 died as the car went into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar


At least four people were killed when a car carrying six passengers plunged into a deep ravine in the Massu-Padder area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar region, officials said.

The incident happened on Saturday night, and search teams are busy to find two missing people, including the driver of the car.

Union Minister and Udhampur MP Jitendra Singh expressed grief over the tragedy.

“It is disappointing to hear that the 4 passengers who were traveling in the car were found dead on the spot. The other two people, including the driver, have not been found yet. I sympathize with the bereaved families,” he said in a statement. send to X.

Singh added that he has contacted Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan to speed up rescue efforts. “Rescue teams have been deployed, and I am getting regular updates,” he said.

Eyewitnesses reported that rescue operations were underway as ambulances arrived at the scene. Video from the scene shows rescuers pulling the bodies out of the canyon.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the details of the vehicle involved in the crash.
