In Hades, he will eventually meet Sisyphus, the villainous king cursed to push the rock up the hill forever, and he is surprisingly cold about his lot. After a few attempts to escape the underworld, he begins to understand how he can feel that way. Hades it’s fast, beautiful, and tough as hell (in a good way). You play as Zagreus, the son of Hades, on a never-ending quest to conquer death. The task is easier said than done, but luckily, you’ll get a little stronger each time you fail. This game is almost flawless, and the power-up bonus system, random encounters, and heat difficulty system all help keep every run feeling fresh and new. Read our full review.
Especially worth a visit now, since Hades II-Supergiant’s first sequel game-is out of early access. The sequence will be as engaging as ever. I’ve already sunk in over 200 hours Hades II. But for now, it’s not available on Switch, so if you want to scratch that itch, check out the original game for now.
