22 Favorite Products That Have Improved My Daily Routine | Wit & Delight

A collage of favorite products in my daily routine from the home, beauty, wellness, and work categories

As I have been trying to do less and have less, I have faced a crossroads: what I need and what I don’t need. Sorting out needs versus wants can be a tricky business, like sorting out what others have of you versus what you have of yourself—a muddy place for lifelong people pleasers. Where do I start and who should I be in the end?

Here is the link between our perceived worth and how we use it. And it’s one of the reasons why my relationship with money has never been good.

This concept became crystal clear as I styled my wardrobe using the digital app Whereing. I will write about this in another post because it is incredibly useful. The process itself did it nausea-and will be discussed in future posts. Mine things it is the accumulation of my personality—all the pieces are whole, but not the whole me. I’m done carrying the weight of all that.

I have had an interesting insight into my spending habits—not a shame-and I see both sides of the coin. I see products that I don’t want to live without. And when I look at what I use every dayit is clear what must go. Focusing on what you really love makes it much easier to let go of what you don’t.

If you had to pick up and move right now or downsize, what would you take with you? What do you miss when you are away from home? They are great questions to help you understand where your needs and wants are aligned in the Venn diagram and identify the products you should be using. Here are mine this time.

I share the best products in my daily routine and why they have become an important part of my life.

This espresso machine is the first thing I touch in the morning. I use it several times a day and it has held up well for the past four years. Sadly, I couldn’t live without it. Read more about this espresso machine in my product review blog. This product was given to me as part of a partnership.

These mugs are handmade in Ginny’s Minneapolis studio. Something about holding your favorite mug makes the morning coffee ritual so much better. Full stop.

Hearth Display is how I keep track of my kids’ stuff, how my kids keep track of their stuff, and how Joe keeps track of our stuff. What I love about this display is that it hangs in my office. My family can keep track of our calendar, routines, and to-do lists without having to bug me for instructions or lists. Hearth also has an active AI “assistant” that lets you list items that need to be added to your calendar. I send my kids’ sports schedules, lunches, field trips, and events via text message and VOILA, it’s on the calendar. The single best device I’ve added to our family’s life. This product was given to me as part of a partnership.

Hand and neck cream entered the conversation in my mid-40s. I’m still searching for the best neck cream (after confirming that having a different one for your face helps). BUT, in the hand cream department, I found my absolute favorite in the evolvetogether product. Having a cream that feels luxurious in my hands, especially in scent and texture, makes repeated use something I crave, whether in the car, at my desk, or before bed. This is my favorite scent.

$20

No mascara compares to this one for my thin and straight lashes. It never explodes and never loses its oomph after being opened and used for several months.

$9

This is my favorite lipstick because of the price, the color, and how long it lasts on my lips. It blends with all my other shades and defines the shape of my lips perfectly. A workhorse!

$46

This CC cream is magic in a tube. It immediately makes me look alive. It goes on like a lotion but magically creates a filter-like finish that doesn’t feel like most foundations.

$107+

I’ve tried a few Le Labo fragrances—Bergamote, Jasmine, and Rose 31—and nothing compares to Santal 33.

I consider movement to be very important to my overall physical and mental health. My foam roller has saved me from many strains of tight shoulders, tight hips, and crampy hamstrings. There are many free tutorials on YouTube that give instructions on how to use a foam roller. I always get a better experience following a coach versus rolling on my own.

$249 $211

And I’m talking about my favorite activities—TENNIS! There are few things I would rather do. I love my Wilson Shift racket. Offers more topspin and control!

$180

I have a bad working memory and I just realized it’s a gift for me to just write THINGS. So I use my planner for dates, notes, etc. It’s a mess most weeks but at least I have one visible place to put things that I can refer to later. As I designed this one, it’s exactly how I like to plan my weeks.
