Like most years, the top dogs will enter next season favored to win it all, including Ohio State, which will look to defend its title in a year.
But right behind Ohio State at the top of the oddsboard are Texas, Georgia and Oregon, three CFP teams from this season.
The Ducks entered the 12-team tournament at the top after winning the regular season against the Buccaneers. However, they lost to OSU 41-21 in this year’s quarterfinals.
Similarly, the Longhorns came up short against Ohio State, losing 28-14 in the semifinals.
Georgia fell at the hands of another winner this season, Notre Dame, losing 23-10 in the quarterfinals.
Speaking of the Irish, they opened in seventh place on the oddsboard, after qualifying for this year’s title but coming up short.
The only two teams in the top 10 on the oddsboard that did not make the 12-team field this season are Alabama and LSU. Other CFP contributors from this season are very good on the national board for next season, including SMU at +8000, Arizona State at +9000, Indiana at +15000 and Boise State at +20000.
